Its bulker fleet enables RAO to transport “dry bulk commodities”, such as fertilisers, grain, coal or bauxite. Available for this purpose are bulkers of the Handysize to Panamax size class, which have a capacity of between 38,000 and 76,000 tdw. To extend its service portfolio further, RAO will be adding, among other things, four Supramaxes of 61,000 tdw each (Imabari I-Star design) and four newbuildings of the approximately 83,000 tdw Kamsamax class to its fleet between 2011 and 2013.
In principle, the RAO fleet is deployed around the globe. However, the trade lanes between North-West Europe and South America East Coast constitute one geographic area of focus.
